     Telegard Network

     NETWORK RULES AND REGULATIONS.

Last Updated on 13 February 1999.

1) QUALITY - NOT QUANTITY.

It would be preferable to see every TGNet member contributing ten
intelligent, well-written messages per month, than a hundred oneliners
and off-topic garbage posts per week. Although there are no specific
rules regarding the quality level of messages, if a user is seen to be
babbling endlessly about completely off-topic subjects, that user WILL
   be
warned. Any user which frequently ignores the topic of an echo,
   and/or
becomes a major annoyance/distraction within one or multiple
   echos, WILL
eventually be removed from the network. This is a rare
   occurrence,
however, and as long as all sysops make sure their users
   know that
TGNet is about QUALITY, not quantity, then the need for
   actual
enforcement will be a truly infrequent event.

2) ALL SYSTEMS MUST REMAIN ACTIVE.

While we are not in the habit of dropping nodes from this net, it would
advisable that you post at least weekly somewhere in the net; be it the
BBS ads echo or the File Announcements echo. This will basically allow
us to know that you are still here. Lurk all you like but try and help
   others as well.

3) TG-ADMIN = REQUIRED READING.

All TGNet sysops should make a habit of reading TG-ADMIN (TGNet Admin
),
as new information is posted to that echo
 as soon as it becomes
   available.

Of particular concern are new echolists, which are posted to this echo
within minutes of their release. All NEW echos are echoed to ALL member
nodes automatically, so be certain to read this echo frequently to
   check
for any changes to the echolist. If a sysop does NOT wish to
receive a new echo, contact the NC via e-mail or netmail, or make an
   areafix
request to disconnect from that area.

4) NO MIME OR UUENCODED FILES IN ANY ECHO.

Files are NOT to be transferred through the actual message areas of

TGNet under ANY circumstances unless permission is given by the NC. If
a file is to be distributed, send
that file via e-mail, or via Netmail
   to the FileEcho Coordinator.

   Read TGN-FILE.NA for
more information on TGNet's File Network.

5) NO LONG SIGNATURES.

You are welcome to add a signature to the end of your message, but
   please,
no excessively long ascii drawings, and don't try to post your
   entire life
story at the end of each message. Keep your signature to
   four lines or
less, please. "Taglines" and "Oneliners" don't count as
   part of a
signature, but please limit those to one line only.
