Sony's GVM-2000 MultiScan monitor is the company's first monitor
that displays both computer graphics images as and composite
video. The company says the monitor designed to satisfy a wide
range of today's corporate presentation-graphics needs.

With two RGB computer inputs integrated into changeable modules,
the GVM-2000 can handle all input scanning frequencies from 15
to 36 KHz, and can be upgraded as computer graphics standards
evolve. The monitor handles graphics in resolutions up to 720 by
480 pixels.

On the video side, the GVM-2000 has two composite video inputs
that accept NTSC signals from popular recording formats,
including 0.75-inch, 0.5-inch, ED-Beta, and Super-VHS. The
monitor also accepts inputs from video tuners and videodisc
players, and displays a high-resolution video image of up to 560
lines.

Sony claims the GVM-2000 has special circuitry that eliminates
pin distortion and maintains a stable full-size image regardless
of changes in the frequency of the input signal. It also has a
automatic white balance, and a built-in speaker.

Price: $2300.
