DOSMate Plus is a DOS encyclopedia on a disk. It is a
memory-resident, pop-up help system for DOS 2.0 or higher,
including DOS 4.0, and it contains over 100,000 words of text
covering every DOS command.

You can use DOSMate in two different ways: If you invoke the
program from a blank command line, it displays a menu showing
every DOS command. When you select a command from the menu, a
Memory Jogger appears, giving you a concise description of the
command as well as any restrictions on its use. If you invoke the
program with a DOS command on the command line, it displays the
relevant Memory Jogger at once, side-stepping the menu.

Whichever approach you use, if you need further help, you can
press PageDown, which will pop up exhaustive details on the
command, including examples and tips. You can facilitate
isolating these details by using the Quick Reference menus, which
let you go straight to the aspect of the command that you are
interested in. Each topic is also cross-referenced to associated
commands.

For those who are new to DOS or seldom use a computer, the
Topic Index gives a complete listing of all DOS commands and
their purpose. Each command appears several times under different
headings to ease searching. Once you find the required command,
DOSMate displays the Memory Jogger, and you use the program as
described above.

Other features include extensive treatment of batch-file
processing and a listing of DOS error messages with explanations
of their meanings and suggested remedies.

DOSMate Plus runs on the IBM PC with at least 250K bytes of RAM
and DOS 2.0; a hard disk drive is recommended. The program is
fully compatible with most other memory-resident software, and,
provided you don't load any other TSR programs after DOSMate
Plus, you can remove it from memory.
