Designed by music theorists and professional music typesetters,
Music Publisher 2.0 is music notation software for the Macintosh
that helps you produce high-quality sheet music. The package
includes the Music Publisher program disk; the Presto High-Speed
Music Entry instrument; Presto cables for the Mac Plus, SE, and
II; a system installer disk; and the Repertoire PostScript font.

The software gives you notation specifications, such as note
values up to and including 128th notes; transposition by
chromatic, diatonic, or modal (by key or by octaves); automatic
placement of ties, accidentals, bar indents, accents, and
staccato markings; alignment of lyrics to notes; playback via the
Mac's internal speaker; and automatic beaming (standard, complex,
cross stave, center, and adjustable angles).

In addition, you get standard and complex time signatures;
markings such as slurs, crescendos and decrescendos, repeat
signs, pedals, glissandos, and fingering numbers; a choice of
automatic or manual stem direction; customizable automatic
proportional spacing; and measure numbers with full layout
options.

The Page Layout specifications let you display your music as a
page; transfer via PICT to other applications; set up to 20 tabs
per page with four alignment choices; vertically justify staves,
music systems, and text blocks; and draw solid and dotted lines,
squares, and rectangles in a wide range of point sizes. You also
get four on-screen stave and note sizes; five preformatted
systems; five page views; and automatic or manual leading from 6
to 72 points in 0.5-point increments.

You can play back and proof your musical scores, input from a
music keyboard via step-time entry, and isolate and mute
individual voices with the package's 16 channels, 128 patches,
and user-selectable channel mapping. You get a complete set of
accidental symbols and percussion symbols, guitar slashes,
flexible symbol placement and movement, multiple dotted notes,
and the ability to print on any PostScript-compatible laser
printer. Presto specifications include eight function keys (for
chords, size, spaces, symbols, and grace notes) and four octaves.

Music Publisher 2.0 requires a Mac Plus, SE, or II, two
800K-byte floppy-disk drives (a hard disk drive is recommended),
an Imagewriter or PostScript-compatible printer, and at least 1
megabyte of RAM.
