Microtel Pacific Research has released what they say is the
first set of printed-circuit board (PCB) design tools running
under OS/2.

Called LEDAX Plus, the program includes: XScheme (schematic
capture), XBoard (two-dimensional documentation/drafting),
XPlace (automatic/interactive file routing), and XPost
(artwork/plotting postprocessors). Each is linked to the others
through a single database, with changes in one tool immediately
reflected in the others. The company says active linking
reduces data entry, errors, time, and cost.

LEDAX Plus provides data compatibility among different versions
running on different platforms, so that you can use a VAX,
Apollo, or Sun workstation for compute-intensive tasks such as
routing, with other work off-loaded to an OS/2-based system.
Microtel says the program fully supports OS/2's multitasking
capabilities and the Presentation Manager graphical interface.

Price: $8795.
