Intelligent Environments (AE) has launched two new versions of
its Application Manager (AM) for OS/2. Both AM Professional and
AM Personal are development tools that help you integrate the
communications, database, and graphical capabilities of OS/2.

According to AE, AM gives OS/2 a data integration and graphical
front end that have up to now only been available with a
combination of Unix, Macintosh, and mainframe systems. And more
to the point for developers, AM is designed to relieve OS/2's
heavy reliance on C. AE claims that few large corporations use C
for their development efforts. AM combines CASE, 4GL, 3GL, and
expert system techniques to provide what the company calls a
"unique environment."

Both AM Personal and AM Professional require OS/2 1.1 or 1.2.
Applications developed with AM Professional require runtime
modules for each workstation.

Price: AM Personal, $695; AM Professional, $5000; runtime
module, $250.
