Unison Technologies has introduced three sine wave UPS machines
and UPS monitoring software for Novell's NetWare, 2nd Chance.

For your critical networking systems, workstations, and graphics
systems, the three machines provide 800, 1200, and 1500VA of
conditioned power. They all include RS-232C communications
interfaces for NetWare, 3Com, and Banyan networks as well as
multi-user Unix and Xenix operating systems.

The MPS800 is the 800VA UPS. It weighs 46 pounds and is available
in January. The other machines are the MPS1200 and MPS1500. All
three include a feature for remote control over telephone lines
with a modem.

You install the UPS monitoring software for NetWare, 2nd Chance,
as a value added process on top of NetWare. When you have a power
failure or low battery condition, the UniPower UPS signals the
file server through a serial port. 2nd Chance then broadcasts the
power failure warning to all network users and shuts down your
system slowly.

Price: MPS800, $1099; MPS1200, $1699, MPS 1500, $2199.
