This is the README file for PB-GNU PASSWD v1.0. The full version of
the user's manual is available in the PASSWD.MAN file. Use tabstops
at 4 characters for best viewing.

Unpack PASSWD.PEX and PASSWD.INI. Copy to your PEX directory.

For use as a login entry: for best results, rename the PASSWD.PEX
file to WELCOMEx.PEX where 'x' is a numner from 0 to 9. Place it
in the PEX directory. Edit and place there the PASSWD.INI file.
You may NOT change that name. That's all. The program should work fine.

As a menu entry: the PEX, as a menu option, replaces
ProBoard's "Change Password" function. Thus, you'll get
all the benefits of having the minimum number of specific
characters and other restrictions that PASSWD provides
plus recording of the date the password was last changed.
You may want to use a second definition file in which you
will set "Force = 1" and "WarnDays = 0". You can select a
different name for the file. I would recommend PASSWD2.INI
(the extension MUST be "INI"). Next, create an entry in the
menu for function 60 "Run ProBoard SDK" and in the argument
list type the name of the PEX (PASSWD or whatever you happen
to rename it to) and the full pathname of the new INI file.
A sample entry would look like:

                 PASSWD D:\PB\PEX\PASSWD2.INI

That's all that there is to it.

Compiling is done with the Borland C++ 3.1 compiler. I don't have any
others, so I can't guarantee that the program will even compile.
