DOWNLOG
 A utility to parse Maximus log files and mailer log files and update
 FILES.BBS listings to show how many times each file has been downloaded
 and also compile lists of the most-downloaded files.

Current Version: .78 {beta}, DOS;
                 OS/2 version available after beta testing

Features:
 * reads Maximus log files (no file limit if u have enough memory)
 * reads FrontDoor, D'Bridge and Binkley mailer logs and also records
   and updates counts for file-requests
 * reads mailer and log files in "shared" mode so concurrent use with
   your BBS running is no problem.
 * selectively ignore 'mailer-only' type files (such as packets and .TIC
   files).
 * reads Maximus AREA.DAT and automatically searches all file areas;
   supports an unlimited number of file areas from Maximus.
 * supports the Maximus "Filelist" directive; great for maintaining
   updated CDROM file listings
 * will read just about any style download count and convert it to
   a user specified format (x digits, leading spaces, zeros, etc)
 * "remembers" the last date and time all logs were processed and will
   not update file download counts more than once
 * uses the figures in FILES.BBS listings to determine counts; NOT any
   internal data files (so you can easily modify download counts)
 * supports a WIDE variety of FILES.BBS formats, (and even non-maximus
   ones); completely configurable to allow you flexibility in placing
   and identifying the download counts in your listings.
 * can be run via a configuration file, or via command line parameters,
   and cmd line parms can override config settings for manual processing.
 * can be run in "test mode" where only FILES.BAK is written so you can
   examine how the program works before committing to any changes to your
   files.
 * can be run in "NoUpdate" mode where no file lists are modified; useful
   for just compiling specific top x lists
 * supports user-specified file areas to be included or excluded from
   processing
 * generates a "Top X" list of the most downloaded files on your BBS;
   the only limit on the number of files listed is your available memory
   (you could easily have a 'Top 100' list without any problems).
 * you can selectively OMIT specified file areas from the Top X list.
 * Displays file-descriptions in the Top X list!
 * Top X list can be generated globally, or for a particular area, with
   or without the processing of mailer or bbs log files.
 * DOWNLOG is extremely fast! It can process 70 file areas with 300
   downloads from MAX.LOG and BINKLEY.LOG, generating a top 25 list
   in about 30 seconds!  (486 33 computer - your mileage may vary ;) )

The current product is still in beta testing but is relatively stable.
Anyone interested in running/testing the system should net-mail me
and file-request "DOWNLOG" from 1:396/21.
