The Village Hut v2.08 beta by Donald Tidmore.

I will do a complete rewrite of this file sometime in
January 2006. As of Dec. 30-31, 2005, this IGM is now
based on the DDIGM Tool-kit.

Usage directions:
1) Obtain HUT-WORK.ZIP from me via email.

2) Unzip contents of archive into a LORD sub-directory,
such as VILLAGE. If you are updating from V.Hut v2.00
delete the HUTCFG.EXE file - it is not currently in use.
Also delete the HUT.CFG file - it is no longer used.

3) Un-install Village Hut v2.00 from the LORD 3rdparty.dat file
if it is in there from prior usage of the IGM.

3) Change to the IGM directory and run the HUTCFG2.EXE program.
Answer configuration menu questions as directed on-screen.
Use Install igm part of main menu. Save config file and
	exit program.

4) If you use LordMenu, update its data files.
Resume normal use of LORD and the igm.
IF you run into problems, send me details via email along
with archive file containing all data files in your VILLAGE
directory, your play*.dat files and Lognow.txt file.

BBS Usage? Igm is working in Local Mode. Stephen Gibbs is
helping me with the code rewrites. I don't rightly know if
the igm will work on your BBS. Backup your bbs/lord files
first before trying the beta on a BBS Lord game. Report any
glitches or bugs that you find to me immediately please.

For the most part, you can ignore everything from the rest of
hut.doc, which I've not had time to rewrite yet. This igm
is now 100% Freeware. No registration is required, although
it would be nice if you would let me know you are using this
IGM's beta and provide feedback on its usage. Thanks, Donald.

12/09/05: Hut.exe Converted to use normal DDPLUS code units.

12/31/05: HUT.EXE Converted to use customized DDIGM code units.

0.1.0 Feedback

Please send me mail! I love talking to people that like my IGM!
I see this line in almost every IGM and as far as I know, people
don't e-mail unless they have a problem. Oh, well. :(

Put "The Village Hut Help" or "Hut" in the subject area because I might
delete it thinking it's an annoying chain letter. Thanks!

2.0.0 Introduction - Chapter 2

The Village Hut is a new place users can go to explore. Here are the
things they can do.

   - Witch Doctor: A new healer that heals for less. (Yeh, I know
other IGMs do it for free.)

   - Scribes: Have the scribes write something on your
               weapon or armour.

   - Mines: The user walks around and finds different things:

Potion: It can be just water, poison, or strength potion.

Fairy: You know what a fairy is!

Old man: You can attack him,
talk to him, or ignore him.

Ouch: You step on a knife blade and lose hit points.

More stuff to come once it is registered!

You get ten turns for every level you are on.

   - Beauty Parlor: The user will get cleaned up and gain charm.

   - Village Idiot: He is the guru of the town. He can give the
user gold, charm, experience, etc. Every time
the user comes back per day he has a lot lesser
                     chance to get something.

   - Weapons & Armour: Two new weapons and armour stores that payback
75% of the price of the wep/arm.

   - Cloaked Figure: You pay him 3 gems, he gives you info
on a player. He knows all.

   - Transfer Desk: Lets the user transfer an unlimited amount of gold
to another player. (limited to gold in bank, of course)

(some of these features are unavaliable in the UNREGISTERED version)

You can make a file called LOCKOUT.HUT to lockout users from The Hut.
The file should contain their real name. Example file:

 Beginning of file
; You can use semi-colons to make
; comments! Lock-out names from the Village Hut
BILL GATES
SETH ABLE
BILL CLINTON
ROSS PEROT
BOB DOLE
AL GORE
 End of file

  No longer required for program.                             }

3.0.0 Installation - Chapter 3

After you decompress this file you should run the install program (HUTCFG.EXE)
to install, uninstall, setup, and register this program. Here is a brief
description of the menu options.

3.1.0 Install

This option will prompt you for several pathnames and it installs The Hut
into LORD. You may chose an option that reboots the system on a dropped
carrier. Which is not wise if you are using a BBS system like Wildcat
that handles these things perfectly fine.

3.2.0 Uninstall

This option will remove ALL traces of The Hut from 3RDPARTY.DAT

3.3.0 Register

Dec. 2005 note: This igm is now Freeware. If you use it, just
let me know what you think of its update, and ask your BBS users
to send me feedback. Thanks, Donald Tidmore.
--------------------------------------------------------

3.4.0 Quit

Quit will exit the installation program and save any changes.

3.5.0 System Requirments

The Village Hut currently requires the following to function correctly:

A 386 or higher microprocessor.
LORD version 3.26a or higher, 3.55+ recommended.
A Hard Drive with about 150K free.

4.0.0 Special Thanks - Chapter 4

I thank the following people (in order of importance, I think):

 - Steve Oberholtzer for saving me HOURS of programming and debugging
by letting me use routines from his IGM.

 - Seth Able. Wasen't he the guy that made the game?
This should really just be a macro! ;)

 - The makers of DDPLUS! Without them, this IGM would not have been
   possible.

 - Mark Ingenito for trying Hut on his multiple-node BBS and finding
a lot of bugs. He is a true Beta-warrior! He is one of the very
nice SysOps on Cheyenne BBS. Thanks to all the SysOps there!

 - All my other beta testers and people I have forgotten.

5.0.0 Program History - Chapter 5

This program has had a long and hard history.

Version 1.0 - Initial Beta Release

Version 1.1 - Title screen didn't appear in the previous version due
to my lack of brain cells. Now fixed.
Also, the user WAS able to transfer a negative amount
of gold to someone. Now fixed. This could've caused
                a major problem.

Version 1.2 - Internal program changes.
HUT.ANS had to be in the LORD directory. Now fixed.
                Ansi displayed slow. Now fixed.
When you reentered the mine you got extra turns. Now fixed.
Lots of others that I forget now. Now squished.

Version 1.3 - Registration name was garbage in last version. Now fixed.
The game didn't delete the OUT.<user_account> file,
causing the user to get kicked out of LORD v3.50+. Now fixed.

Version 1.5 - Overlay file added, major reorganization.
Made the program look nicer, added some secret stuff.
Fixed a bug that would not detect if the the program
was running locally. Now SysOps can play without fiddling
with 3rdparty.dat! (or so I thought) Fixed a bug that
exited the program with too many open files.

Version 1.51 - Ah, some new bugs! Hut now detects local right.
If you pay without enough gold in the beauty parlor,
Hut will say you need <incorrect #> dollars more. Now it
dosen't lie to you. Also did a major reorganization of
my "DDLORD" unit. (a modification of DDPLUS 7.1)

Version 1.9 - The beauty parlor gave you a tad too much charm. Now fixed.
The Mines had a bug that a few people told me about. The
problem was from the previous version that exited when
you found gold. Now fixed. Some messages changed a little.
Some things reorganized. Hut displayed the wrong node
number in the Status Line. Now fixed. Fixed a bug that
didn't let Hut work in Renegade. Hut does not detect RIP
now so the loading time will be faster. Hut now has a
feature that if a user drops carrier inside Hut the
computer will be rebooted. The more prompts are now
                erased.

Version 2.0 - I ruined some of the messages in the last version. Now
fixed. The "gold" bugs from the last version weren't fixed.
Now fixed. If Hut wasen't registered you got a divide by
zero error (in last ver only). Now fixed. Added the
                Scribes section.

Build 203 - Fixed some bugs in the Scribes area. Made some messages
                nicer.

Build 205 - Changed the Scribes area all around. Fixed some bugs in there.

Build 225 - Completely fixed the scribes. <finally ;> Fixed some spelling
errors in the Jester. Removed the cheat, er, debugging codes.
Users can now keep their fairy they found in the mines. Thanks
to Scott Roosa on Cheyenne BBS for telling me about that!

Build 250 - Major bug fixes! You can now keep your faries. If a user
transferred gold to another user when they were online they
lost their gold and the user did not receive it. Now fixed.

Build 260 - Build 250... But with NEW Debug Code!! :) I apparently
wanted to waste some version numbers.

Official 1.0 - Fixed the bug where Hut locked on some computers... finally!
Release Thanks to Steve O. for fixing that bug!

Release 1.3 - Added some stuff, made the more prompt look cool.
Fixed some keyboard timeout bugs. Fiddled around with the
                stupid prompts again.

Release 2.0 - My new 1997 release. I moved so my address has changed.
I rooted out some registration bugs with help from Jeff
Miller of the ONIX BBS in Bala Cynwyd, PA. Hut now
sets you input numbers in the transfer desk.
